PlayScribeTerms of Service
These terms explain the rules for using PlayScribe and your responsibilities when working with music and audio in the service.
Effective September 18, 2026
1. Agreement and eligibility
By creating an account or using PlayScribe, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. You must be legally able to enter this agreement and provide accurate account information. Keep your login details secure and tell us through the available support channel if you believe your account has been compromised.
2. The service
PlayScribe provides tools for music practice and analysis, including playback, looping, tempo and key estimation, transposition, click and beat grids, saved practice sessions, chord sheets, lyrics tools, local four-stem separation, optional LALAL.AI cloud separation, and MP3 or WAV export. Local separation runs directly on supported devices without uploading the source audio or applying a PlayScribe upload quota. Features may depend on your browser, device, connected storage, third-party services, or plan.
We may improve, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not guarantee that every audio format, browser, external link, or third-party service will remain compatible.
3. Your content and permissions
You retain ownership of audio, lyrics, chord sheets, metadata, and other material you provide. You grant PlayScribe the limited permission needed to store, transmit, process, and display that material solely to operate features you request.
You may only upload, import, process, or share content when you have the legal right or permission to do so. You are responsible for complying with copyright, licensing, privacy, and other applicable laws.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not use the service to infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights.
- Do not upload malware, disrupt the service, bypass access controls, or attempt unauthorized access.
- Do not use automated methods to overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or abuse the service or its providers.
- Do not use generated analysis as a substitute for professional musical, legal, or commercial clearance.
5. Third-party services
Some features use or link to third-party services such as YouTube, Supabase, LALAL.AI, Stripe, and online music-information sources. Their own terms, privacy practices, availability, eligibility requirements, and charges may apply. PlayScribe does not control third-party content or guarantee continued access.
6. Plans, trial, charges, and cancellation
Free includes the library, playback, pitch, speed, looping, saved sessions, manual click, count-in, and beat-grid tools. Pro adds automatic music analysis, local four-stem separation, LALAL.AI connection, the stem mixer, EQ, lyrics and chords, tuner and timer tools, and MP3 or WAV export. New Pro purchases cost $29 USD as a one-time payment for lifetime Pro access, with no recurring subscription charge.
A seven-day Pro trial begins when you first enter the Studio, requires no payment card, and returns to Free access when it ends unless you separately purchase Pro. Lifetime Pro does not renew or require a recurring payment. Existing subscriptions purchased before this offer remain on their original billing terms and can be managed or cancelled from Account. Cancelling an existing subscription stops future renewal but does not normally reverse charges already incurred unless required by law. Optional third-party services such as LALAL.AI remain subject to their own plans, charges, and limits.
7. Suspension and termination
You may stop using PlayScribe at any time. We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, non-payment, serious misuse, or violation of these Terms. Provisions concerning ownership, liability, and disputes survive termination where applicable.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law. Music analysis and generated results may be inaccurate. We do not promise uninterrupted operation or that locally stored files can always be recovered. To the maximum extent permitted by law, PlayScribe is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the service.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. We will post the revised version with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required. Questions may be submitted through PlayScribe’s available support channel.
