Important limitations to understand when using PlayScribe for music practice, analysis, transcription, and audio processing.

Music analysis is an estimate
Detected tempo, key, chords, time signature, pitch, lyrics, metadata, and separated stems may be incomplete or wrong. Results vary with recording quality, arrangement, performance, device capability, and processing method. Listen critically and verify results before relying on them.
Audio processing limitations
Transposition, tempo changes, equalization, separation, and MP3 or WAV export can introduce artifacts or differ from the original recording. Local four-stem separation has no PlayScribe upload quota because it runs on supported devices, but processing speed, available file size, and results still depend on your device, browser, memory, and storage. Keep independent copies of important source files and settings.
YouTube and external media
YouTube playback and other linked media depend on the external provider and may be unavailable, restricted, changed, or removed without notice. Advanced processing requires an audio file you are authorized to use. PlayScribe does not grant download, reproduction, adaptation, performance, or distribution rights in third-party media.
Lyrics, chords, and copyright
Search results and imported chord sheets or lyrics may be inaccurate and remain subject to copyright and licensing restrictions. Availability in PlayScribe does not mean content is public domain or cleared for publication, performance, teaching, recording, or commercial use. You are responsible for obtaining any required permissions.
Third-party processing
Optional cloud services, including LALAL.AI, are separate from unlimited local four-stem separation and operate independently under their own terms, policies, usage limits, and account requirements. Processing time, quality, storage, charges, and availability are controlled by those providers. Never share your private license keys with other people.
