PlayScribe

Privacy Policy

PlayScribe is designed around local-first audio workflows. This policy explains what information is handled, where it goes, and the choices available to you.

Effective September 18, 2026

1. Information we handle

  • Account information, such as your name, email address, user ID, and role.
  • Track and project details, including titles, artists, playlists, saved session snapshots, settings, analysis, lyrics, and chord sheets.
  • Audio files or links you choose to open, attach, upload, or process.
  • Subscription status, billing interval, payment-provider customer references, and transaction records. PlayScribe does not receive your full payment-card number.
  • Basic technical and usage information needed for security, reliability, and product analytics.

2. Local-first audio storage and separation

Where supported, PlayScribe keeps original audio and generated stems in browser storage or a folder you select through your browser. Built-in four-stem separation runs directly on your device, so the source audio is not uploaded and no PlayScribe upload quota applies. This content stays on that device unless you explicitly use a cloud upload or third-party processing feature. Browser-data deletion, device changes, private browsing, storage limits, or revoked folder permission can make local content unavailable, so keep your own backups.

3. Optional cloud storage and processing

When you explicitly choose a cloud-backed feature, the necessary file and related metadata may be transmitted to the configured storage or processing provider. Uploaded audio and saved session snapshots are stored in locations associated with your account. If you choose LALAL.AI separation, your audio is sent to LALAL.AI using the license you provide and is handled under its policies and account limits. Online lookup features may send song title, artist, or composer search terms to relevant providers.

4. How we use information

We use information to authenticate you, save your projects, provide requested playback and processing features, secure and maintain the service, respond to support requests, and understand product performance. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Sharing

Information is shared only as needed with service providers that support authentication, hosting, storage, processing, analytics, and other features you request. Stripe processes one-time purchases, existing subscription payments, and billing details under its own privacy policy. Information may also be shared when you direct us to do so, or when required to protect users, enforce our terms, or comply with law.

6. Retention and security

Cloud account and project information is retained while needed to provide the service, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Local content remains until you remove it or browser or device storage removes it. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online or local storage method is completely secure.

7. Your choices and rights

You can edit or delete project information in the app, remove locally cached files, disconnect optional integrations, and stop using the service. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export personal information, and to object to certain processing. Submit privacy requests through PlayScribe’s available support channel.

8. Children and international processing

PlayScribe is not directed to children who cannot legally consent to data processing in their location. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to applicable safeguards and law.

9. Policy updates

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will receive additional notice where required.
